Real conversation with a real tutor. Every lesson is built around you: what you want to say, where your family came from, and how fast you want to go.
Book your free 30 minutesI grew up with Maltese around me and studied it at school, and I've never lost my love for the language. I started Maltese Masterclass for one simple reason: there are plenty of Maltese voices in Australia, and almost nowhere to actually learn the language one-on-one.
Beginner friendly. No grammar drills on day one. We start with the words you'll actually use, then build from there, week by week.
Built around you. Tell me why you're learning (family, travel, heritage) and your lessons lean that way. You can take the full course or just the modules you want.
Lessons run 45 minutes of teaching plus 15 minutes to wrap up, review and set your homework. Online lessons run anywhere in Australia. Home visits cover Melton and up to 5 km out; if you're further away, you're welcome at my place.
We meet online or in person, talk about what you want from the language, and see if we click. No cost, no pressure.
I map out which modules suit you and in what order, with your first lesson's phrases ready to go.
45 minutes teaching, 15 minutes wrap-up. Between lessons you also get a complimentary check-in call to keep everything fresh.
Every lesson comes with an activity sheet, emailed to you (print it if you like) or on paper at a home visit. Finish it and send it back or bring it to your next lesson, and I mark it with you.
Take the full beginner course, or book just the modules you want. Only First Words is a must before the others. If you'd like a child to learn, please get in touch with me directly and a dedicated course for children can be organised.
Greetings, introductions and the everyday phrases that get you talking from lesson one. Every student starts here.
Maltese pronunciation, the letters that trip everyone up, and drills to get your ear in. The one module that often rewards a second lesson.
Mum, nanna, the cousins in Malta. Names for the people that matter and how to talk about them.
From pastizzi to fenkata: the food words, ordering, and the stories behind the dishes.
Counting, days, months and times, so you can plan, ask and answer.
Left, right, straight ahead. Getting around a town and understanding the answers.
Small talk, ordering a coffee, being a regular. The friendly module for slower starters who want to chat.
Prices, sizes, please-and-thank-you at the counter. Real exchanges you'll actually use.
FREE Your first 30 minutes are always free. Prices below include your check-in calls, homework sheets and marking.
Launching just after the school doors open: every student gets a private page on this site with what they've learned, what's completed, and that week's mini activities to keep it all locked in. Mini activities are free for anyone who's paid for a lesson; students on a full course get the complete portal with progress tracking, all in one place.
